Meet Barb a seasoned healthcare professional with a diverse background spanning over three decades. Graduating in 1987 from the Victoria General Hospital School of Nursing, Barb embarked on a career dedicated to compassionate care and medical innovation.
In the midst of the AIDS epidemic, Barb courageously served as a nurse for AIDS patients for four years, witnessing the profound impact of the crisis on individuals and communities. Transitioning to the field of Hematology and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant, she spent nine years providing specialized care to patients facing complex medical challenges.
Driven by a passion for research and advancement in healthcare, Barb ventured into the realm of clinical research coordination in Hematology and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant for two years before transitioning to the Pharmaceutical Industry. Over the course of 11 years, she contributed significantly to clinical development and medical affairs, holding diverse roles focused on research and medical communications.
In 2011, Barb returned to her roots in nursing channelling her expertise into community nursing with a focus on family centered care. Her commitment to integrity, veracity, and ethics has been unwavering throughout her various roles, shaping her approach to patient care and professional interactions.
Recently joined The Care Company as part of the Care Coordinator Team, Barb continues to prioritize excellence in healthcare delivery and support for patients and their families.
Beyond her professional endeavours Barb finds solace and rejuvenation in outdoor activities, including all-season camping, swimming and hiking the scenic trails of Ontario. Her adventurous spirit has also led her to travel extensively, both for personal exploration and professional engagements, although she now prefers the comfort of four wheels for her journeys.
